                                                   ORDER OF THE
                                    CHRISTIAN COUNTY COMMISSION
                                                 OZARK, MISSOURI

         DATEISSUED:              May 21, 2015

         SUBJECT:         Scheduling Special Election Upon Resignation of Sheriff and Receiving
                          Applications for Appointment of Interim Sheriff.

                 WHEREAS, on May 20, 2015 Christian County Sheriff, Joey Kyle, tendered his
         resignation to the Christian County Commission which was accepted on said date; and

                 WHEREAS, the Office of Christian County Sheriff has become vacant; and

                  WHEREAS, as a result of the vacancy in the Office of Christian County Sheriff on May
         20, 2015, the Christian County Coroner, Brad Cole, became authorized to perform the duties of
         Christian County Sheriff pursuant to Section 58.200, RSMo., until another Sheriff can be
         appointed and qualified; and

                  WHEREAS, Section 57.080, RSMo. provides that if a vacancy occurs in the Office of the
         Sheriff more than nine (9) months from the next General Election in November of 2016, the
         County Commission shall immediately order a Special Election, which shall occur before the
         tenth Tuesday after the occurrence of the vacancy to fill the same; and

                  WHEREAS, Section 57.080, RSMo. further provides the County Commission is
         authorized to appoint a person to hold the Office of Sheriff until the person chosen at such
         election shall be duly qualified and the Commission will accept applications for the position of
          interim Sheriff and shall appoint a qualified person within a reasonable period of time.
                  NOW, THEREFORE, on this 4 / clay of May, 2015, at a meetin; duly called of the
          Christian County Commission upon 'potion made by Commissioner 4.w, 61*4 CAAU,4-/
          seconded by Commissioner ,d# Ovt,4 off-- ,                       and concurred by Presiding
          Commissioner Ray Weter, the Christian County Commission did vote unanimously to enact the
          following Orders:

                  IT IS ORDERED by the Christian County Commission that a Special Election shall be
          called and held on August 4, 2015 for the election of the Christian County Sheriff who, upon
          being qualified, shall perform the duties of Sheriff for the balance of the Sheriff's term of office
          which currently ends on December 31, 2016.

                  IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, the Christian County Clerk shall take all steps necessary to
          give notice of said Special Election for Sheriff and to notify the political parties recognized in
          Christian County regarding the vacancy in the Office of Sheriff and to set a Special Election to
          fill the vacancy in the Office of Sheriff, all as governed by Sections 115.125 and 115.127,
          RSMo. and Section 115.363.5, RSMo.
